Hazel Grove MP, William Wragg, has praised the work of community pharmacy staff and local volunteers delivering Covid-19 vaccines during his recent visit to the new Well Pharmacy Mass Vaccination Centre in Hazel Grove on Friday 2nd July.
Hazel Grove Civic Hall has been transformed into a temporary vaccination centre to help with the national effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
Run by qualified staff from Well Pharmacy as well as trained local volunteers, the vaccination centre has delivered thousands of vaccinations already, having opened in June.
William toured the Civic Hall and spoke with Well’s Pharmacy Superintendent as well as the pharmacists and volunteers who were delivering this important service to the local community.
William Wragg, MP for Hazel Grove, said:
“It was a privilege to see the important work taking place right here in Hazel Grove. I found it very uplifting to see such a well-organised operation and there was a positive atmosphere at the vaccination centre. I would like to thank the pharmacy staff and the brilliant volunteers who have all come together to deliver this important vaccination programme. It gives me real hope that we are on our way out of this pandemic.”
Ifti Khan, Pharmacy Superintendent for Well Pharmacy, said:
“We really appreciate William taking the time to visit our Mass Vaccination Centre in Hazel Grove, which is one of over 20 sites we’ve launched this year. I know it gave all our pharmacy staff and volunteers a boost and highlighted the importance of the work we are doing. Community pharmacy continues to play a pivotal role in supporting the health and wellbeing of the nation with significant experience and expertise in delivering vaccination programmes – we are already gearing up for another busy flu jab season launching in September.”
