Well Pharmacy, the UK’s largest independent pharmacy chain, will make a second recognition payment to all its frontline employees in recognition of their commitment resilience and hard work throughout the pandemic this month.
This Covid recognition payment is a total investment of c.£700,000 in appreciation for the hard work and contribution they have made to protect the communities they serve and show the appreciation felt by the Executive Committee at Well.
The recognition payment, £150 for pharmacists and pharmacy team leaders and £100 for all other frontline colleagues, will be made in Well’s October pay cycle, and will not be subject to tax or N.I.
Louis Purchase, Operations Director from Well Pharmacy said: “Covid has affected all of our lives, but none more so than healthcare workers. Community pharmacy has played a hugely important role in the healthcare response to Covid and I continue to be immensely proud when I hear examples of how our colleagues have gone above and beyond for patients over the last few years.
“We cannot say thank you enough to our passionate and caring colleagues at Well. Working in pharmacy is rewarding, seeing the difference you can make to the health and wellbeing of patient’s lives is a wonderful feeling. Being on the frontline and the first port of call for community health during a pandemic has shown our colleagues true colours - their level of compassion, commitment and resilience is inspiring.
“I would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every Well employee who continue to do all they can to keep their communities safe and well.”
Jacq Lunardi, People Director, added: “Our people are at the heart of our strategy at Well. They’ve worked on the frontline through the most challenging of circumstances and always stayed focused on our number one priority - the health and wellbeing of our patients.
“That’s why the Executive Committee were keen to recognise our frontline colleagues with a second Covid recognition payment. Today they are still going to great lengths to keep themselves and our patients Covid-safe. We are immensely proud of everything they’ve done and continue to do, and we hope this recognition payment shows them how grateful we are to have such committed and caring colleagues working for the Well family.”
